Eirik Myhr

+47 415 68 009

Eirik Myhr is an award winning composer for film, TV and theatre. He has scored some of Norway’s biggest productions for children, including the hit TV series «Bo Bear» (Brillebjørn) and Hedda Award winning stage productions like Astrid Lindgren’s «Mio, min Mio». A full time composer since 2006, Myhr has a long-standing collaboration with stage director Hilde Brinchmann and film director Christian Lo.

Having composed music from a pre-school age using a combination of drums, keyboards and his voice, and teenage years spent in bands ranging from death metal via electronic jazz to art pop, Myhr’s output is as colourful as his background suggests. Under the mantra that every project creates a new world, Myhr aims to paint that world with music, helping to make it as cohesive and distinct as possible, always with one main mission: To tell the story.

Myhr received the NOPA Music Award 2013 for his score for feature film «The Tough Guys» and was nominated for the Kanonprisen Award for best film music for «Bo Bear’s Vacation» in 2019. For the former, he also won the Best Comedy Score 2013 award by film music website Reel Music (other nominees included Alexandre Desplat and Henry Jackman). In 2022, Myhr received the prestigious Kardemomme Award in recognition of his extensive contributions to composing musical score for children and young audiences.
