Katarzyna Maria Wieczorek is a Polish-Norwegian composer and sound designer based in Trondheim, Norway. Wieczorek has a musicology and music technology background from NTNU, Trondheim. Wieczorek has studied 1 year of composition and arrangement at NTNU Conservatory.
Since 2020, she has been working with music on her own productions and often collaborates interdisciplinary with others, including visual artists and dancers.
In 2021, she and four other artists started the collective project Brainfeels – a project that visualizes and communicates different mental states. The project Brainfeels – misophonia is now in production and results will be a short film about misophonia.
Her music is often described as a film soundtrack, and her aim is often to provide a space where listeners find themselves comfortable and free to experience emotion. Wieczorek’s way of working often includes improvisation and playing with synths and vocals. The methods oscillate between technology and folk music traditions. With her work, she tries to build a bridge between the new technology and storytelling using raw material and acoustic instruments.
