Martin Smidt

Martin Smidt has a versatile production as composer, including 30 full-length commissioned works for leading theaters in Norway and Denmark.

With his broad background as a musician and composer, he crosses genre boundaries effortlessly and designs a unique sound universe for each project, but still with a distinct signature.

He has won several awards and honors with his ensembles Dadafon, Bárut, Trilobitt and Billuca Ensemble, such as Spellemannsprisen (Open Class) and Alarmprisen (Best Jazz Album).

As the manager of Norway´s largest artist working community, Rotvoll Kunstnerkollektiv (Trondheim, Norway), Martin works within a diverse network of talented musicians, visual artists, actors, stage designers and directors.
