Kåre Christoffer Vestrheim

Since his debut as a composer for feature films in 2005 “Pittbull-Terje” (directed by Arild Frölich) Vestrheim has done several films in a wide range of genres from minimalistic folky feel via grandiose and dark electronic synth-scores to classical scores for full philharmonic orchestra.

Recently, the movie “Ninjababy” (2021) directed by Yngvild Sve Flikke received international acclaim winning numerous awards like the Audience Award at SXSW, European Film Award for Best Comedy and Special Mention at Berlinale 2021. His latest feature film, the animated movie “TITINA” (2022) directed by Kajsa Næss was Norways film critics winner last year, having its world wide premiere this spring. Vestrheim has also scored numerous TV-series including Aqcuitted (2015/2016) that screened all over Europe. His latest work for TV is the series “Made In Oslo”   directed by Marit Moum Aune that premiered on Viaplay spring 2021. Currently he is working on the 12 episode drama series “Power Play” premiering autumn 2023. The series already won the Best Series and Best Music in Canneseries 2023.

Vestrheim is also a renowned record-producer having produced more than 100 albums over the last 20 years in all genres, from quadruple platinum selling pop artists to modern jazz, classical and indie-bands (link to a selection below). Composing music for film and television is presently his main occupation, but Vestrheim is also a touring musician and releases records with his own musical projects every now and then. His productions have won more than 20 Norwegian Grammys («Spellemannpris”) and Vestrheim has won the same price both as an artist (1997) and as producer of the year (2011). He has also been nominated for numerous awards for for his film music and won the Kanon Price for Score of the Year 2016 for his work on  “Knutsen & Ludvigsen og den fæle Rasputin” (“Two Buddies and a badger”). Vestrheim is nominated for Best Original Score for his work on “TITINA” at this years Amanda Award in Norway.
