The Trondheim Soloists
The Trondheim soloists are a dynamic ensemble of quality musicians connected to, Trondheim, Norway. The orchestra was established in 1988 and is a string chamber orchestra that performs music across a wide range of genres and musical styles. Today’s Artistic Director, Guro Kleven Hagen, continues the development of the Trondheim Soloists with concerts that are characterized by spontaneity, exuberance and intensity. The orchestra’s unique sound is characterized as capturing a youthful freshness and exuberance and their enthusiastic performances attract new and fruitful collaborative projects and constellations across many styles from the baroque, romantic and contemporary repertoire to tango, folk, rock and pop.
Trondheim Symphony Orchestra:
Trondheim Symphony Orchestra & Opera (TSO) is one of Norway’s largest cultural institutions, and a history dating back to 1909. Based in the magnificent Olavshallen concert hall in Trondheim, TSO hosts most of its seasonal concerts there, besides an active touring schedule across Central Norway, and national and international engagements. Today, TSO comprises 85 permanent musicians, with Han-Na Chang as the chief conductor since 2017. Annually, TSO presents about 18 Thursday concerts featuring a wide symphonic repertoire from baroque to contemporary music, collaborating with renowned soloists and conductors of international acclaim.
Trondheim Voices:
Trondheim Voices is an improvisational vocal ensemble, creating and coloring music with its unique musical language. The singers originate from their background at the jazz program in Trondheim. The ensemble does not function as a choir, or a group of classical singers intending to sing through-composed material straight off the scores. Our strength lies in creating improvised soundscapes, and in creating a wide range of sound images based on the human voice. The ensemble works with both acoustic vocal sounds, and with live electronic processing and effects. For more information: www.trondheimvoices.no
