Marthe Belsvik Stavrum

Marthe Belsvik Stavrum is a classically trained flautist, and started her working life as an orchestra musician at the Opera in Kristiansund.

Since 2011, she has mainly focused on composition, and continuously worked on concert productions in the free art field. Text in the form of scripts or lyrics has often been the starting point for compositional work, and in recent years, inspiration from the visual arts has also gained more space in Stavrum’s projects with instrumental music.

Her music can be found in pure concert programs, as sound installations in exhibitions, in theatre plays and film.

Stavrum composes music using traditional instruments as well as materials, sound recordings and sound design.
